CHIEF JUSTICE OPENS MODERN COURT COMPLEX AT AKROPONG.

  It was all joy and estasy when the Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana, His Lordship Justice Akwasi Anin Yeboah cut the tape to open a beautiful court edifice befitting the Akropong District Court.  The colourful event took place at Akropong in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region on Friday May 29, 2020 . Enthused with the fully furnished court building, organisation of the event, coupled with adherence to restrictions on social gathering and other protocols to mitigate the spread of COVID -19, the Chief Justice said he was happy that the District Authorities, the Member of Parliament, and traditional leaders were promoting administration of justice and rule of law, and asked others to emulate their good example. The District Chief Executive for Atwima Nwabiagya North, Hon. Rebecca Yeboah is canvassing for maximum support for Judicial Service since it plays key role in socio- economic growth of the Country. She said it was absolute truth that justice played a big role in the development of every nation, and that support for operation of the Judicial Service was paramount. The DCE made the statement when addressing a gathering at the commissioning of modern court complex at Akropong in the District. According to her, it was true that justice played a big role in development of every nation, and provision of the facility would serve its intended purpose as those who seek justice would have it. AKROPONG DISTRICT COURT TO BE UPGRADED

The Akropong District Court will be upgraded to Circuit Court status in no distant future, the Chief Justice, His Lordship Justice Akwasi Anin Yeboah has announced.  This announcement was made at the commissioning of fully furnished modern court complex at Akropong in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District Assembly ( ANNDA ) ,on Friday May 29, 2020 . Announcement of decision by Chief Justice to upgrade the old court which had been given a face lift was greeted with rapturous cheers and applause by the gathering at commissioning event . He was full of praise for assembly for the facility, furniture and other equipment provided to make the staff work effectively.  The Chief Justice was joined by Hon. MAKE MAINTENANCE A HABIT, ATWIMA NWABIAGYA NORTH DCE ADVISES LEADERS.

The District Chief Executive for Atwima Nwabiagya North, Hon. Rebecca Yeboah has advised Ghanaians particularly those in leadership to make maintenance a habit in order to prolong the life span of equipment and properties under their care.  According to her, frequent maintenance  also saves cost, and increase efficiency.  The DCE made the statement when she was handing over about 300 mono desks procured by the District Assembly for Barekese SHS and Osei Tutu SHS, last Friday. ATWIMA NWABIAGYA NORTH DISTRICT SUPPORTS TWO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOLS WITH FURNITURE.

Atwima Nwabiagya North District Assembly ( ANNDA ) has provided about 300 mono desks to the Barekese Senior High School and Osei Tutu Senior High School. The two Senior High Schools are in the District,and are in dire need of furniture. At a brief handing over event at Barekese on Friday May 8,2020,the District Chief Executive for the the ANNDA noted that the gesture was aimed to support quality education, and would encourage social distancing during classes period in the schools. She promised that, ANNDA will procure additional sets of furniture for the two SHSs and other Basic Schools who are in dire need of furniture,and urged them to take good care of them, as they wait for more. CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) : ATWIMA NWABIAGYA NORTH DISTRICT INTENSIFIES PREVENTIVE MEASURES

In attempt to mitigate occurrence of the dreadful Coronavirus(COVID -19) in the District, Atwima Nwabiagya North District Assembly(ANNDA ) of the Ashanti has procure items to sanitise public who visit markets, lorry parks, police stations, hospitals, public offices and the court. These items were provided in consonant with directive by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development( MLG&RD) as part of measures by the government to curtail the spread of Coronavirus in the country.So far, 24 cases have been recorded in Ghana with one death. The District Chief Executive for ANNDA, Hon. Rebecca Yeboah advised the public to make good use of items which include veronica backets, hand sanitizers, disposable tissues, soaps whiles observing the social distance in order to mitigate occurrence of the COVID-19 pandemic. ATWIMA NWABIAGYA NORTH DISTRICT ORGANISES ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR ASSEMBLY MEMBERS

Atwima Nwabiagya North District Assembly( ANNDA ) has held a day orientation programme for its Assembly Members to equip them with the knowledge and skill to confront the task ahead of them. The educational event, afforded Assembly Members opportunity to learn the Organogram of District Assembly,  Model of Standing Orders for Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies ( MMDAs), functions of the Assembly Member, and code of conduct of Assembly Member with emphasis on their dos and don'ts. Mr Kaleem Abdallah Adam, the District Coordinating Director(DCD) and Honourable Isaac Ohemeng Prempeh, Presiding Member(PM) facilitated the event held at Barekese on Monday February 24, 2020.  The DCD and PM took turns to educate Assembly Members and urged Assembly Members exercise their legitimate duties as per the dictates of the Local Government Act 936.
